Maturing Policy to Embrace Innovation

The CISO of a quickly-growing commercial bank was reluctant to use Cloud because he believed no adopting would keep security issues to a minimum. The Sales division within that bank took an opposing view from IT and wanted to select a Cloud-based (Saas) CRM solution. The IT division found itself with an old position paper on not using Cloud, no governance on Cloud adoption, and a business unit demanding use of Cloud.

WorldLink comprehensive solution included the following steps to ensure success:

  • Developed the Cloud governance framework and Cloud Service Provider (CSP) evaluation tool that would enable quick assessment for possible work-loads (WL) to potential CSP's
  • Worked with multiple Client Departments to get an understanding of Cloud needs based on function to be anchored in the Cloud along with a data rationalization for security effort
  • Identified all the needed FFIEC regulations and expectations to a bank leveraging public Cloud
  • Developed a Cloud governance framework and a CSP evaluation tool in 6 weeks

Client Outcome


The banking client received a governance framework that was used to communicate the bank’s position on Cloud to all the internal departments as well as a CSP evaluation tool that could be used by the IT architecture and security team to evaluate CSP's. The entire process of selecting a CRM, ECM, and Single Sign On solution took less than 30 days and served to enhance secure operations.
